Life is a road with a destination

Life is not a drifting trip but a pilgrimage toward God. This earth is a place we pass through, not our forever home.

These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.

A pilgrim keeps the direction

Where we are heading matters more than how fast we go. Looking to Jesus and following him is the pilgrim's direction.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith …

The road has hardship

There are wildernesses, failures, waiting and broken relationships. Yet hardship can become God's tool to grow our faith.

Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope …

God walks the road with us

The heart of the pilgrimage is not arriving alone but walking with God, who goes ahead, leads, and lifts us up when we fall.

My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.

Exodus 33:14 (ESV)

… And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

A pilgrim lives today faithfully

Heaven as our destination does not make today small. Because we look to eternity, we are faithful in today's small obedience.

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

1 Corinthians 15:58 (ESV)

The road ends in eternity with God

Our hope is not worldly success but being with God forever.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
